Really happy this option has opened so close to work. I ordered my old faithful Johnnie's Caesar burger with cheese and was pleasantly surprised. It was the same wonderful meat from the other locations and the same giant servings of cheese and toppings. The positive spin was the use of better quality greens than the other locations. It made a great burger awesome. The fries were the same fries we love from the southside location and the outdoor seating was a blast. It is a great spot for some people watching games while you take in an excellent burger. We will be back! If you go, ask for Misti as your server! Great place!

Had lunch at Urban Johnnie for the first time today. Maybe I didn't pay close enough attention to the pictures, but I seriously was expecting this to be a dive sort of bar. I was extremely surprised & impressed to the contrary. The decor was very classy & modern. I loved the fact that they had a large 2nd story full of seating as well as ample outdoor patio space. We were seated upstairs at a bar that borders the edge of the balcony. I've been trying to eat better lately, so I ordered the Greek Salad w/ grilled chicken. $13 bucks seems a bit steep for a greek salad & chicken, but it was delicious. The chicken was grilled perfectly and the salad was very fresh with lots of olives, feta cheese, onions and peppers. Does wonders for your breath! My friend had the Steve McQueen burger which came with bacon, blue cheese & spiced honey. The service was friendly & got us whatever we needed quickly. A manager came by & asked us how everything was & thanked us for visiting. I'm anxious to come back & try something a little more interesting like one of their burgers or tacos. I have no problem paying a little extra for quality food, but I did think $13 was too much for the salad. Other than that, no complaints.

Had a fantastic lunch at Urban Johnnie with some friends. First of all, it's a very comfortable place. The booths are large, and there is a TV almost every direction you can look. Just at our table, we had a view of 4 TVs without moving our heads too much. Very impressive, and even though it's nice, it's not stuffy. We started with cheese fries. They are thin and covered in cheddar cheese, which is nicely melted and there was a nice brown crust on the cheddar. You get an enormous serving as well, it's a good value and imminently shareable. I tried 2 burgers: the Steve McQueen and the Thunder. First of all, the meat they use appeared to be of very good quality. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Juicy and pink. They can cook a burger very well at Urban Johnnie. The McQueen was fantastic: bacon, blue cheese, and flavored honey. One of the better burgers I've had in a long time. Blue cheese and honey is a fantastic combo, and it works really well on a burger. The bun is soft and they toast it, which adds to the flavor. The bacon is on the thicker side, and it's got great flavor. An absolute re-order. The Thunder comes with housemade onion dip and small crispy hashbrowns. This burger is good, but not nearly as good as the McQueen. The onion dip is good, but I could have used some more onion flavor. The hashbrowns are very crispy, which I like. This burger would use a little more seasoning. It's certainly good, but paled next to the McQueen. All of us had onion rings on the side, and we tried a small side of pimento cheese spread. The onion rings are very good, crispy and the batter is seasoned well. They are large, and you get quite a few in an order. I'll get these next time I eat a Urban Johnnie. The pimento cheese was fantastic. It has a very good kick, and has great cheese flavor. It's one of the better pimento cheeses I've had in a long time. I can't wait to return and get this on a burger. Cool patio, large bar, and a good beer selection. This is a great new addition to OKC and I'll absolutely come back.

Bar across from aLoft hotel in Bricktown. Very nice chill atmosphere. Comtemporary setting. I sat at the bar but they definitely have room for groups upstairs and down. Clean bathrooms and an open kitchen. The bartender, Ashley, was very nice and attentive. Good bar talk. I ordered the Dums Dums and grilled Salmon. The Salmon was great, the Dums Dums were....different. They're like buffalo chicken meatballs. I would definitely recommend.

Should call it Uppity Johnies. Needless to say the overall feel of this joint turned me off. The food here was good. Had the Chili Cheese Fries. These were really good. Later had the Thunder burger and onion rings. The burger just didn't hit the spot for me. The meat was great but the topping made me wish I hadn't ordered it just because was half price during the game. The Onion rings here were good but not what I was expecting from a johnies. As I love the ones at johnies charcoal much better. Over all the food was good. Loved the massive amounts of TV's. Just not sure I like my burger with a side of uppity. Stay Uppity Johnies!

Urban Johnnie. I've been waiting for you to open for MONTHS. Just blocks from my office and near downtown fun, I knew we would be fast friends. My first Urban Johnnie's experience was great! My group of four got there at 5:30, and were seated right away. We had a great waiter who was attentive, but not overly so (which is a fine balance). Also, he is Irish with a great accent and called us all 'Love' in a non creepy way. Bonus points to Urban Johnnie for that one. I also love the decor and atmosphere here. Its simple, but trendy. And I love the added touch of the OKC photographs. With plenty of TV screens, this is the perfect place to catch the "big game" (whatever the current "big game" of the moment is). We ordered the chips with queso and salsa to start us out and it was very good! I'm a sucker for queso and salsa, and thought Urban Johnnie's recipe for both was unique without being too different. For my main course I had to go with the Theta Burger. A favorite of mine at the original Johnnie's, and I just had to get it here to make sure it was just as good ;) There were a lot of things on the menu that looked wonderful. Some other things our table got that looked delicious were: Kale salad with salmon, vegetarian soup, and a burger customized with lettuce instead of a bun. I feel like I could eat here every day for a week and happily order something different each time! Urban Johnnie has some street parking, and parking spots in the Level apartments parking garage. If you park in the garage, make sure you get a token at Urban Johnnies to allow your exit from the parking garage! All in all, I definitely would recommend this place! They have great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Side note: Am I the only one who wants to call this Urban Johnnie's with an 'S'? Seems weird to say Urban Johnnie....

I was so glad I finally got to try Urban Johnnie before a Thunder game this weekend. I LOVE Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler so I was pumped to try something run by the same people with a different atmosphere. I had the pimento cheese burger with sweet potato fries, which was basically a queso burger. It was messy to eat but I loved it! The fries were good too. The rest of my group got the regular fries, and it surprised me they weren't the thick-cut Johnnie's fries, which I love. My mom actually liked Urban Johnnie's better though because she finds Johnnie's a bit greasy. The only thing I would say is I wish they had a kids' menu. I know downtown spots aren't catered for kids, but I would say this has a cool family atmosphere for lunch or an early dinner. We had my 8-year-old cousin with us and ended up spending $10 for her to eat half a burger. Overall, we liked it! The space is really cool and I think it has great potential in Deep Deuce.

Awful service we were there at 1 pm and it wasn't crowed but we waited for over an hour for just a grilled cheese.
(1)Kent M.
Great upscale version of an OKC treasure!! Urban has your Johnnie's favorites and a great menu of new options! Full bar & well trained staff make this a top choice in downtown OKC...
(5)Toby F.
I'm a lifetime fan of Johnnies. Family has been going there since I was a kid. So I was excited to have an upscale version to hit up downtown! I really enjoyed the location and the food. I got a burger with onion rings, of course, with the johnnies cheese that makes their burgers so special. Very good. Slightly different from the original. The onion rings were slightly smaller and the burger bun was home made. My family was disappointed not to have a frankfurter option like they love from the original johnnies. Otherwise, this seems like a great addition to a booming neighborhood.
(4)Kristen H.
Service was just awful. We waited too long for average and overpriced food. I had the feeling that the employees (manager included) are burned out on the service industry. No reason to waste your time here with so many great options in Bricktown and deep deuce.

Urban Johnnie wasn't bad. The up and down reviews left me walking into the place with no real expectations. All I really wanted was a relaxing meal. My first visit knocked my socks off, but my second visit left a lot to be desired. For lunch- it's pretty good. Typical American cuisine. Dinner/ happy hour? A-OK Cons: -Booths by the kitchen. It kind of bothers me. -Front of the house doesn't really have a waiting area. It got crowded quick! -Tight sitting space upstairs along the railing. Pros -Lots of TVs make it easy to watch a game without having to crane your neck in awkward positions to view a screen. -That Irish waiter Ashleigh B. was talking about was the best. In summary: Affordable and pretty yummy in DT. Fried avocados on the BLAT? Yup! Honestly, it's a fancy smancy version of JC. I see this place getting even more busy once ALoft opens up. Particularly busy on a game night. I waited 5 minutes for a seat for two upstairs. Lunch was fast, easy and friendly. Can't complain.

U.J.'s patio rules. After a lovely Thunder win last Saturday, we were about to get on the road back to Tulsa but couldn't sit still yet because we were so excited. The downtown atmosphere here was the perfect place to celebrate the win. A group of 6 of us were promptly seated by the hostess. Make sure you see the host at the front before you sit. Some parties didn't get this memo. There are big screen televisions that line the patio and seating is comfortable and dog friendly! We only stuck with appetizers this time but I'll be back to try their full menu. The chips & queso/salsa rivaled the cheese fries and took the win in my book. The chips were thin and fresh and the queso was well-seasoned. The cheese fries left something to be desired flavor wise, but served as a great indulgent snack!

Great outdoor seating near Bricktown. Service was definitely good. Their flights of beer was a nice mix of domestics with craft and imports, something I've never seen before. Their cocktails were good was well. I'll be back again. However, they don't score all 5 stars because their onion dip was clearly from a jar and it wasn't that great to begin with.

We stopped by for Saturday brunch, and thought the food was pretty good, although pricey. Their brunch menu is pretty small, but has enough choices on it. I got their breakfast burrito, and the bf got the breakfast sampler (I think that's what it was called - eggs, toast, strawberries, bacon) You could make both of these dishes at home very easily, so I would mostly say to come if you don't feel like cooking breakfast. My breakfast burrito was quite tasty, although a little overkill on the roasted poblanos. I could have lived with about half the amount, so I ended up making a bit of a mess of it trying to take some off. But the flavor all together was good. The mimosas were STRONG. I watched her put about 2 tablespoons of juice in a wine glass and fill it up with champagne. That's their double that I somehow was sold on. Huge mistake, I couldn't finish it. Most people just asked for more juice to be added. The environment is pretty loud. We were sat upstairs in the bar area, and there are probably the same number of tables at TVs. There was also VERY loud music playing. Not my favorite environment. I'll definitely be back to try sitting downstairs, and ordering off of their regular menu.

I was so excited to check this out yesterday while planning the next Yelp Elite Event with the lovely women from Revel 8 Salon! I had the chicken patty on a fresh bun, with that famous Johnnie's shredded cheese and hickory sauce. The sandwich was delicious, and I look forward to coming back to try the veggie patty, as well as the rest of this menu. We also had a hummus, pita and veggie tray at our table. I did not love the flavor of the hummus, maybe too olive-y? We make homemeade hummus from scratch so I'm a little tough on hummus. But I love the long strips of veggies they serve alongside the pita. We also had the sweet potato fries (so good, thick cut and not greasy with sea salt) and a small house salad which looked delicious. The service was wonderful, and I love the bustling atmosphere of a popular, busy lunch place in the heart of the city. I have always loved Johnnies, I love West, so I was destined to love this place. Can't wait to come back for cocktails and dinner!
(4)Michael W.
This is a pretty cool idea to juice up the traditional Johnnies Burger Joint, but they went and changed the best thing on the menu.... The Caesar Burger. No more crispy iceberg lettuce. It's the new wave, healthy green stuff that you cant chew, served on a Kaiser bun... Amping up the atmosphere and adding a bar is very cool. Yuppy-fying the menu is very un-cool.
(3)Brooks R.
Placed onion ring order to go - rubbery, chewy, not consistent with the quality of the NW Expy location. Order consisted of 6 medium size onion rings for $4.00 calculated to .66 cents a rings - disappointed. Bartender was too cool to smile :( , his accent didn't make up for the attitude.
(3)Alison C.
Very good burgers and fries plus excellent service. Modern ambiance with an open street-side patio We had our dog with us and they brought her water and dog treats.

I gave this place a chance thinking it would better than WEST located on Western. Not the case food is terrible no taste no seasoning I mean what kind of cook do they have? Also very small space inside .. I won't be back. Or Refer people from out of town here. I gave it a one star for location surely they know how to make a drink .

Ate here today for the first time with a group of friends. Service was good, my Steve McQueen burger was great, fun place. Having parking was a bug plus fir the group, I walked, which was nice too.

As always, great. Very comfortable and easy going wait staff, Monique is the best. Plenty of healthy options to choose from the menu.

It is surprising that I tried eating at place the first week it was open because I usually prefer to give them a little time to work the kinks out. The reason I deviated from my normal practice was because my work day had been far from normal. I will spare you the gory details but let me just tell you there was intense pressure, high stress and extreme time-sensitivity involved! I was unable to reach a good stopping point to go to lunch until 3:35. Yes, I said lunch at 3:35. By that time my head was splitting, I was starving (lunch is my big meal of the day) and I seriously needed a break. I also needed a place within walking distance of my office (so I could get some exercise and clear my head) that was still open and serving decent food at that odd hour. Luckily I remembered hearing that Urban Johnnie had opened this week. They are located on the ground floor of Level Apartments in Deep Deuce. I found their website, printed a menu and wrote down their phone number. Reviewing the menu, I quickly decided that the Grilled Salmon entrée was just what I needed. To save time, I called in my order so they could be fixing it while I was walking over there. That would give me more time to relax with my meal before heading back to the grindstone. Sara is the person who took my phone order and she was just the first of the many nice people I dealt with at Urban Johnnie. I received great service. That doesn't always happen for one person, especially a woman, dining alone. They did all the right things to expedite my getting out on time. Even better than the great service was my grilled salmon entrée. It was just the right size for lunch and it was delicious! The grilled salmon fillet was served on top of angel hair pasta that was mixed with spinach, roasted garlic, and balsamic vinaigrette. The flavor was wonderful. I love good fish and try to eat healthy at least most of the time so this was a win-win! Before I went to lunch I had checked on my computer to see if they participated in the KeepItLocal program and was surprised to see that they already did. The award listed online was for a Free homemade caramel toffee popcorn (one of their desserts) with the purchase of an entrée. Now, I didn't need dessert but figured I could share it at work or take it home for my husband because it sounded good and was free. My waitress saw my KeepItLocal card and told me they didn't participate. I told her that I had seen it online before I left my office. She went to talk to the manager. I then checked the KeepItLocal app on my cell phone and they weren't listed there yet. The manager stopped by to talk to me and said they would give me the free caramel toffee popcorn but that they were actually changing the reward to be a 15% off discount. She said that due to peanut allergies, there would be people who couldn't get the popcorn and they wanted to offer a reward that would benefit more people. That's a nice attitude for a business to have. I told her that I didn't actually need dessert and would prefer the discount on my meal anyway so I think I became the first recipient of their 15% KeepItLocal discount. All too soon it was time for me to head back to work. After having a nice break with delicious food and great service, I was in much better shape to make it through the rest of my extremely long and grueling work day. I am sure I will be back, just hopefully on a less stressful day!

I will never be back after the experience that i had today after being there for maybe 10 minutes.. First after walking in at 12:01, the manager and host asked if it was one, then i let them know it was 2, then they looked confused on to where to sit me, then they decided to sit me in a booth. Hostesses ask what was the name for my party, i told her Danielle. Then about a minute the manager comes by to ask me the same thing, told him Danielle again. As I look around I notice that there is only a total of 5 tables including me and only 1 other table is waiting for food. Then another table joins in which there server comes up to them as there about to sit, he introduces himself and he gives water. I look at my watch and its 12:10 , I have no water, never seen my server by the name Robert....and the manager and 4 other servers are just standing there looking out the window i guess for customers... Im pissed now, I go back to the hostess stand in which the manager was there, and i let him know that he could cancel my reservation, and that I've been waiting five minutes to see my waiter and he never showed up till i was walking out. The manager stood there looking dumb founded like he was looking for the server and i walked out without him even saying IM SORRY OR SOMETHING..... I GOT NOTHING.....THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT I'VE BEEN THERE, AND I'M NOT PLEASED WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT. ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS ORDER APPETIZER BEFORE MY GUEST SHOWED UP.....AND SHE HAPPENED TO SHOW UP AS I GOT TO MY CAR. So we took our business elsewhere.. SLAUGHTER HALL THANKS U....

We were so impressed yesterday we went back today for brunch - unfortunately we were disappointed. Service was good both days, yesterday we had the onion dip to start with and the Steve McQueen burger and the Theta with cheese and sweet potato fries. All delicious. Today we had the buffalo dum dums to start with (they actually came after our meals came out so the restaurant immediately comped them - no harm, no foul) - I would not get these again. Not sure why someone gave a tip to get them. Personally, not a fan. We had the eggs Benedict with cheese grits and the Thunder burger. Burger was good, Benedict was cold and I would not order it again. Verdict, good service...but I will wait to make a verdict on the food since I had two extremely different experiences. Atmosphere is great. I will be back - and I'll update my review after that visit. Been back a couple of times and had better experience. Love the dirty hummus.

New spot opening downtown okc. @UrbanJohnnie bar & grille OMG this food is amazing. This steve McQueen burger mmm mmmm. The chef salad has to be the best salad I've had, salmon, turkey, ham, eggs, cucumber. Do you see all this meat. The decor is so urban, modern chic! 121 n.e 2nd street okc, ok 73114. They officially open Monday! They will also feature brunch. Yes another brunch place, but located in downtown across from the aloft hotel!
(5)Brent M.
Love the food! Their are tv's everywhere so no matter where u sit you'll be able to see the game. They have good bucket selection for your choice of beer. $20 for 2 buckets ain't bad! Chill environmental to hang out in as well. Definitely coming back and definitely recommend this place.
(5)Cherie B.
I was so excited when Urban Johnnie opened. The menu has a lot to choose from. I usually get the Caesar burger anytime I go to Johnnie's so this time I got the Steve McQueen and OMG it was so yummy -- blue cheese and bacon, need I say more. They also have a great beer selection on tap and in bottles. If you're looking for mixed drinks, they have some great signature ones -- made with my favorite vodka Prairie Wolf. Anytime I'm down in Deep Deuce I will definitely be stopping in.
(5)Spencer R.
I went with a group, and we were seated right away. The atmosphere is really cool, and the décor is tres chic. The service was good. We ordered a number of appetizers. The guacamole and chips were excellent. They had some very strange meatballs that someone else ordered, so I'm not sure exactly what they were, some variety of chicken meatball with all manner of peculiar tastes that I couldn't quite pinpoint. They had some kind of funky strong cheese and some other herbs. I liked them, but a number of people didn't. If you're a meat and potatoes Okie, don't even think of trying them. You will use your spoon to get all the sauce off and try to pick the pieces of chicken out and not like them because they don't taste like your mom's chicken anymore, but if you're a foodie, they're probably a must try out of shear curiosity of tastes. Moving on... I was debating between the burger and this other peculiar menu item, which was a crab cake sandwich. I have had some yummy crab cakes, so I decided to try it. Umm, better to stick with the burger I think. It was kind of a spongey, semi soggy, probably previously frozen "Krabby Patty" (Threw that in for some of you with Children and Nickelodeon). It wasn't very tasty, so yeah, probably best to stick with the burger. My friend ordered a variety of blackened chicken sandwich, which was also fairly bland. You could taste the char off the bat, but despite some ingredients on the sandwich that might have made it yummy, it just didn't have much spunk past the char, maybe the chicken needed some marinade, not sure, but it was pretty bland. Overall, the experience was good. I think the ingredients were quality, possibly aside from the Krabby Patties. The place is good, but could be better. I might go again to try the burger, which they drizzle with honey, which just sounded like it would taste good. I would say the 3.5 star rating is pretty accurate on this one. It's on the verge of being 4 in the future with a teensy bit more effort in the food prep... brining the chicken a little more, crispying up the Krabby patties and adding some spices/rub/parmesan or something when prepping them to give them some pep. I think the menu is creative and some of the food is interesting. It's a pretty good restaurant on the verge of being a really good restaurant. I'd like to go back in 6 months and give it 4-5 stars.
(3)Theresa J.
Food - Steak cooked well (ordered it medium). - Buffalo chicken is just strange and the texture is almost inedible. Drinks - Fairly good selection of cocktails. - Beer selection is pretty good. Service - Bartender hasn't smiled or even attempted to be friendly. - After waiting five minutes for her to offer me a second drink I finally had to wave at her to get her to look up. Atmosphere - Excellent! Great vibe.

I have grown up loving Johnnie's, so when I heard about this place I was super excited. The location is cool, and the decor makes a great impression when you walk in. Very well done and vibey. We took our three pre-teen kids, and there were no kid options and not really any menu options that were a good fit. That was disappointing, but not why I rated this place low. The food was just not good. The fries and onion rings looked good, but they had no seasoning. The fries not only lacked flavor but tasted off. Rubbery texture and cooked too long or too short. I had the McQueen burger which wasn't bad. The flavor combination was fun, but the burger itself was dry - especially for medium - and the bun was just not good. My wife got the Theta Burger. She ordered it with "light cheese," and that request was ignored. On top of that the burger was swimming in saucer, and the strong pickles just didn't seem to work. Two of my kids shared the buffalo dum dums, and I tried them just to try and find something that was good. They were not. Again, super dry and lacking flavor despite the wing sauce. My son ordered grilled cheese and got mac n cheese instead. The rest of us were nearly finished when he finally got his sandwich. The service was below average. Requests for ketchup and water took very long. The food is also quite expensive - especially as nothing comes with a side. I don't mind paying more for a great experience, but this just wasn't worth it. We are not foodies by any means and don't delight in low ratings. Also, as lovers of Johnnie's, this was a shock. There are a lot of other places around bricktown we saw, and I wish we would've tried a different one.

It was a beautiful spring day in OKC, warm and actually very little wind, so for happy hour I wanted to try somewhere new and sit outside! Urban Johnnie fit the bill!! I walked inside to get our outside table and was struck by the cool modern, laid-back interior. It would be a great place for everything from drinks with the girls after work to a date night or a place to watch the game! Once we got seated, our waiter was great! He was very informative and offered recommendations and info on the food/drinks (which I love to hear)! To drink I had the Pimm's and the Skinny Club Special, both very good and I would order each again! It was happy hour so all of their appetizers (except for the two we ordered, ha) were half off! We tried the crab cake and the buffalo chicken lollipops. The waiter informed us that their crab cakes are incredible and that it is their most popular dish. They were good, but more like a fried patty in texture. When I think of crab cake I dream of the thick chunks of delicious crab heaven at Rococo, but these we're "ok." I felt the same about the chicken lollipops. They were balls of breaded deep fried chicken & cream cheese that you can get with or without buffalo sauce and blue cheese, and they were good (although a little dry). I would probably try something different next time, but that's kind of my way anyway.. Will definitely be back in the evening to check out the vibe indoors. I am so proud of OKC for adding cool places like Urban Johnnie to our OKC!

Urban Johnnie- another place that makes you forget you're in Oklahoma or makes you appreciate how far we've come. We were driving around looking for a good place to watch the Thunder game and luckily came upon this place. It was a sports watcher's heaven! So many TV!! The setup was cool, chic, and perfect. It's 2 levels with a bar on each level. The burgers are great and the sweet potato fries perfectly salted. I'm so excited for a place like this. It makes me seriously consider buying a condo in the area!
(4)Carlos B.
Hummus, Steve McQueen and onion rings is my go to combo and so far haven't been let down by the food or service.
(5)Tarah S.
Awesome! Jalepeno margarita was on point! Chicken burger patty was delicious, Wasn't just a plain chicken breast. Thunder burger was also very good! The hashbrowns on it were super crispy. Great place, definitely recommend it and will be back!
(5)Willie W.
Upon first glance, Urban Johnnies looks to be this new sleek, hipster restaurant in the downtown OKC area but after careful inspection I think this should be filed away in the Upper chain restaurant category. I can't really give you a great review on the food because I didn't stay long enough to have any but take my advice, Make sure you look at the menu online before you get there. I guess I should've analyzed the name a bit more (URBAN JOHNNIE). Now that I think about it, its a burger joint in a urban setting. Another complaint that I i have is that there are entirely too many televisions in this place. I think the LCD SCREEN OVERLOAD definitely takes away from the sleek outer shell of this restaurant and turns it into JUST ANOTHER bar and grill.
(3)Marc W.
Urban Johnnies did a great job with the Tacos and Chips and Salsa/Queso. Burger with fried avocado and bacon was also great along with the chicken sandwich. Fries and sweet potato fries were also very good!
(5)Cathy C.
I was so impressed with this restaurant ! Atmosphere is beautiful!! The food was wonderful ! Stopped in for Sunday brunch! My husband had the breakfast sandwich which he loved but mine was the bomb !! The Steve McQueen Burger! With that name, I just had to order it!! It was delicious!! I can't say any more it was just delicious !! I'm sorry I don't have pictures I devoured it!! Don't forget to order the fried apple rings with Carmel and vanilla ice cream! OMG. Heavenly! Outstanding service!! :)
(5)Adam W.
Noisy, bad for lunch meeting, unless you want to shout. Food was good, but too expensive relative to portion to beat out Jimmy Johns delivery...
(3)Karla Roxanne M.
Conveniently located this place could use more fresh produce. The prices were high and the bar fruit dry. Hummus was tasty....the veggies old. The service was friendly as I enjoyed Pimms on the patio.... Minus the brown mint leaves.
(3)Jessica P.
I've been to Urban Johnnie twice now and both times my food experiences were definitely 2 stars. I'm surprised by the individuals who rated them higher, but maybe they serve better vegan options. Tonight my partner & I just wanted some drinks & an appetizer because I was hungry & did not want another food disappointment. I thought cheese fries would be simple enough not to mess up-surprisingly I was incorrect. The fries were undercooked, wet, stuck together and then dolloped with cheese & the whole concoction tasted as if it had been overheated in the microwave. I really hope my picture does it justice. I should have also captured my ability to flip the entire mold of fries/cheese over after about a minute of being on table. Our first eating experience was a Sunday brunch but all items were a-la-carte and I didn't see paying $9 for some pancakes! Unless I'm at Ihop and you can give me bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, an omelet & a heart attack for $9 I'm just not ordering one item of pancakes for breakfast. I like to eat! My partner ordered a burger with a few fixins (all for additional costs which I find annoying but maybe I'm just cheap) & they forgot to include his bacon but we didn't notice until he was halfway finished with his meal (we actually forgot he even ordered it). So rather than just taking it off of the bill which was what we wanted, bc he was practically finished with his meal, the server brought him 2 slices of bacon on a plate lol, random. He also had sweet potato fries which were good but nothing to write home about. I decided on the BLT because I couldn't make up my mind. I enjoyed my sandwich but it was 3 stars at best. Nothing spectacular about the bacon or extra delicious about the avocado. I wish the bread was thicker & on Texas toast or something better. Again-nothing to write home about. Overall I would NOT recommend the food. I really enjoy the ambience-the televisions are nice & the outdoor seating will be good in the summer. I would consider going again for drinks but with so many other options available in bricktown that have such similar looks why go here??

Great burgers and fries. There are tons of TVs everywhere and this is a perfect place to watch the game. Beer is a little expensive but still good amount of choices. I recommend building your own burger.

I was excited to try Urban Johnnie but we left disappointed. Great drink prices but the food was pretty bland and high priced. I don't think we will be back. There are better places downtown that offer more. Honestly I would have rather had an original Johnnies with alcoholic beverages.

This place was deserted at 11:15pm, and they are open until 12 am. As one of 3 tables, I ordered cheese fries and they were half burned. Manager comped the food after I complained. Eew. Won't be back. :(

Bad service and sub par food last night. We thought it was strange that they were empty on a Saturday night. Disappointing.

My hub & I stopped here for lunch. We started with hummus app, it was good, not fabulous, but our meal was delicious! My hubby had Street tacos & I had Steve McQueen burger, the combo of blue cheese, honey & bacon was excellent! Took dinner there for the first time Saturday evening. Place has a cool interior design although somewhat a bit sterile. This place has 2 levels and we were seated on level 2. They first tried to seat us at bar high, small round table but asked to be seated in a booth (we like to have our feet resting on the ground when we eat a meal) which they obliged albeit a bit unwillingly. Ordered the store made onion dip and chips for an app which arrived less than one minute after we ordered it. We had the kale salad, ground chicken burger and buffalo wing-bleu cheese stuffed dum dum for entries. Cocktails and wine on tap were nice and reasonably priced. As with all Johnnie's restaurants the food was prepared to perfection and service were fantastic!! Definitely hipster / Sports bar type atmosphere. Place has cool vibe and will return.

Decided on a late night whim to go try this place out when we couldn't get in at the Plaza anywhere.. We sat on the patio which was nice. Small, but nice. There's a few tv's out there for sports! Our server suggested we start with cheese fries, but to get white cheddar instead of the regular and um.... WOW! Might be my new favorite place to go for cheese fries! Drink selection is good. I had a Princess Peach, a concoction original to Urban Johnnie and it was actually great. Not too sweet, but sweet enough. All 3 of us at the table unknowingly decided on getting the #9 (theta) burger. It wasn't the best I've had, but it was still very tasty. I think the Mac n cheese was spot on. I will most definitely be going back to try the meatballs and crab cakes because I have heard people rave about them!
(3)Jo R.
Good beer menu, the outside patio was nice and we were well served. Waitress have us great advice on sides, appetizers. Dog friendly, and the waitress even brought out a doggy bowl to our neighboring table. Awesome urban food from the owner of Johnnie's Charcoal Burger.

I gave this a one star rating solely because of how the manager on shift handled a situation in which I approached him about a thumbtack in my Vegetarian Wolf burger. I ate here two nights ago with several friends and stumbled across a thumbtack embedded into my burger. Luckily I was playing with my food while talking instead of devouring the whole thing. I decided to inform the manager on duty and his first response was "we don't have any thumbtacks in the back".......almost insinuating that I placed it there myself. I then asked him if the rest of the burger should be okay in a joking manner and he proceeded to suggest that it should and that I should eat it anyway. This blew my mind. I don't have any experience managing a restaurant. But if one of your customers finds something potentially dangerous in their food then wouldn't it be standard procedure to replace the meal with a new one or NOT suggest to the customer that you should eat it anyway?? The evening started out great and our waitress was super kind. But the way that situation was handled was completely in poor taste.

Wow. We've been not-so-patiently waiting for this place to open because it is literally 2 blocks from where we live. Like a previous reviewer said, I'm usually hesitant to go to new restaurants because there are so many kinks - it takes awhile to work out the bugs and get things flowing. That was definitely not the case with Urban Johnnie and we were there on the third day they were open. Wow. There were three of us at dinner. We were seated right away and Rusty was our server. He was so friendly and helpful - offering us tips on which beer we should order and answering questions about everything on the menu. We will definitely ask for him next time we go. We had other servers and the manager all stop by our table during the meal to unobtrusively see how we were doing. Wow, customer service. What a concept. We each got something different so we could all try multiple things. Hubby and I are both vegan and we are THRILLED with the multiple vegan items on the menu - from hummus to chili to veggie burgers to tacos -- we're not just relegated to a garden salad. How refreshing! Why don't all restaurants do this? Anyway - hubby go the north of the border with a veggie burger instead of chicken. It was awesome and so filling. He got mashed potatoes for his side. Our friend, who apparently didn't want to share with us (LOL) got the crab cakes and said they were terrific. She also got a side of onion rings. I got the dirty hummus with fresh veggies and pita triangles along with a cup of the veggie chili. It was all really, really good. A perfect light dinner. The beer was terrific, too, but I don't remember what Rusty had recommended. I think hubby's was a Mustang but mine was something different... Of all the food I'd say I was least impressed by the onion rings. Just a little on the bland side. Other than that, everything was terrific. I can't wait to go back and try the kale salad and the veggie tacos. I even understand they have veggie option for brunch but I haven't seen a brunch menu. I think this would be a perfect place to take out-of-town guests who would be totally surprised at such a cool urban place in OKC. We will go back again and again... can't wait to walk down there and sit on the patio in the evening this summer.
(5)Holly B.
I only give this place 1 star for how it looks! I was impressed when I walked in and was looking forward to eating there and the food was just not good. We were surprised because we love Johnnies and this didn't meet our standards or Johnnies for that matter. Bad fries, bad sauce, bad service. Won't go back! Sticking with the original!!
(1)Jay L.
A step up from a regular Johnnies. The burgers are a bit... trendy per se. When I went, I had the caesar burger, onion rings, and crab cakes. All were very good. Service was fast/friendly and has a nice atmosphere. If I remember correctly, parking was a bit limited, though. Will eat here again.
(4)Tom J.
Great lunch on a Wednesday! Had the waitress with tattoos and short hair, Dara I think. She was great. Had the Steve Mc Queen burger (bacon, blue cheese, spicy honey). It was excellent! Also had the cheese fries. I thought I ordered a side, but they must only come as a big plate, so I had some to take home. They were good. Service was quick and friendly and attentive. I recommend this place. $8 for burger, $6 for cheese fries (should've ordered a side), $2.25 for tea.
(4)Rachel B.
My husband and I came to Urban Johhnie for dinner and the Thunder game. The atmosphere is busy and loud but some how still intimate and comfortable. We were sat at the upstairs bar right away despite how packed the restaurant was. Our service was excellent. Angelica is a great server! Simple food. But different. Like a black bean patty burger with hummus and grilled onions. Or a beef burger with French onion dip and crisp hash browns. I am gluten free and can still, practically, order the entire menu!
(4)Austin M.
It was good. It's not good enough for the high prices though. Any burger joint that charges $9 for a burger that does not include fries ($3) better be amazing. It was good not amazing.
(3)Shelly H.
I dig this place. It's got a lot of vegetarian options and good drinks. I've had good service every time I've been. It's a bit loud inside but that goes along with the sports bar atmosphere.
(4)Carmen R.
Urban Johnnie has a great patio. The chicken fried sandwich was delicious! Good alternative music in the background.
(3)Mark M.
First impression is everything and this place failed. I will give it another chance but no time soon. Hope the wrinkles get ironed out this could be a cool place to hang out.
(2)Kyle M.
Urban Johnnies has a cool atmosphere and there were a lot of young attractive people there but the food wasn't worth the price. We got the Hummus and Crab Cakes appetizer to start and the Hummus was Ok. They had carrots, celery, cucumber, and Pita bread but the Hummus was a bit salty for my taste. Next they brought out the crab cakes on a bed of fresh spinach and some In house tartar sauce and it was all very good except for the fact it was $12 and they gave us two crab cakes about the size of a silver dollar or a couple York peppermint patties. Maybe I'm in the wrong and that's what I should have expected for the price but they were literally the size of half a subway meatball. I got shrimp tacos and they were good but $14 for about 12 popcorn shrimp and 3 super small tortillas was a little much. I'll go back to see what ladies are around but I won't be ordering anything but a burger next time.
(3)Jessica W.
This place is amazing. The service was great. Becky H. was our server and she was so friendly and prompt with refills. I had the pimento cheese burger and it was the best burger I've ever had. Love this place and I can't wait to go back!
(5)Samuel W.
Good bar food in the popular deep deuce area. On the first floor of Level apartments. Several tvs and a good place to watch a game. Bar upstairs and downstairs. Not a bad joint.
(3)Tom H.
Wifey & I tried Urban Johnnies today for the first time. We arrived 2ish ready for drinks and lunch. The host was very out of it and took him a while to get it together and seat us. The place has a chill vibe. Comfy booth with a large drink menu. The food was above average. The salsa had a weird taste. Cheese dip, guac, & chip were really good. I had the deep south Johnny & wifey got the philly. Both were really good. The service though, wow, the slowest service ever. There were maybe 4 other small tables of patrons. They had plenty of staff but painfully slow. The bar tender was talking smack about customers and barking orders at employees. He s a real db! No excuse for the lathargic service. If the service was even average this would be a great place to watch a game and catch some drinks. With so many great options in deep deuce and Bricktown, this will be hard to give a second chance.
(2)Ashlie C.
I love this place! I've been several times for lunch and now I got to go for dinner and sit on their patio...wait for it...with my dog! The service is always great here with the staff being very knowledgeable about the bar and menu offerings. I like it because it's less greasy and way higher class than your typical johnnies, but features some of the same things. Which speaking of, some of my fav things: the dum dums, the Mac and cheese, the theta burger, onion rings and the tacos. Chicken or beef, high in flavor! The dum dums are rich, so they are good to share. I like the onion rings bc they have the amazing breading but aren't greasy. I feel like I'm eating healthy even though I'm prob not. My fav part is they let you bring your dog on the patio, and even encourage it. They have 2 big screens where you can catch the game and they bring water out for your dog as well. I also hear they give 15% of your ticket to a local animal rescue just for bringing your dog! Love it! It's a little pricy, but totally worth it!
(5)Shelby B.
I ordered a simple house salad with grilled chicken. The salad was delicious & the chicken breast was bigger than the entire salad (which is a plus). My boyfriend also really enjoyed his burger & Mac n cheese. Also had a great atmosphere.
(4)Jeff A.
Terrible management, very slow drink service, and slow food service for a marginal burger at best. Go elsewhere!

My girlfriend and I had lunch on wednesday, June 17, 2014. We sat at the bar. The bartender, an older woman needs to find a new profession in customer service. We were the only customers seated. I ordered a beer, she, a drink. She gives me the drink, my beer gets taken to the waiter station.. She realizes her mistake. brings the beer back . ok, simple , I guess, mistake. I order a hamburger. I ask for A.1 sauce. She says no. I say, Heinz 57, she says no. She says it comes with johnies sauce.ok. She also did not even say hello or smile once when we sat down. Of course I am supposed to know what the hell she's talking about , so I ask, What is johnies sauce?? She says it's a smokehouse sauce. ok. Glad, I asked. Again, she had this negative, uncaring look about herself when I inquired about this sauce. I told her I have never been here before. I got my burger, the meat was unseasoned, no flavor to it at all. I have 2 types of sauce on the side of my plate. I asked the bartender, what are these sauces?? She says one is this and that. I was unfamiliar with this new sauce, I ask her, what goes on it?? she says , put whatever you want on it. My girlfriend orders a salad. It arrives. the bartender never asks , how is your meal? How is everything? Nothing!! Not a word. Oh, She got a vodka and cranberry. $4.50 for Well Vodka, and the juice is .75 cents extra. Really? extra charge??! We ate the food, it was so-so. not special. the bun was a plain old bun. Again, the bartender never stopped to ask if we liked the food, drinks, anything! the bill was $21.55. We left a very small tip. She didn't deserve anything. She didn't even say thank you for coming, have a nice evening, nothing. 3 employees at the host stand, they didn't even say thanks, come again. We will not be coming back. Bad service, bad attitude.
(1)David L.
Really nothing special here. Food is ok, service is ok, and the atmosphere is bar-like. Probably a great place to watch a game; I think there are more TV's than menu items. Anyway, there are not many options in this neighborhood, so it works well if you don't want to venture far from aLoft.
(3)Michael W.
(4)Alex H.
(4)Danielle G.

(4)Craig F.
Ate here today for the first time with a group of friends. Service was good, my Steve McQueen burger was great, fun place. Having parking was a bug plus fir the group, I walked, which was nice too.
(4)Lorie W.
As always, great. Very comfortable and easy going wait staff, Monique is the best. Plenty of healthy options to choose from the menu.
Great vibe.

(5)Jason B.

Awesome! Jalepeno margarita was on point! Chicken burger patty was delicious, Wasn't just a plain chicken breast. Thunder burger was also very good! The hashbrowns on it were super crispy. Great place, definitely recommend it and will be back!
(5)Michael A.

You must save room for dessert & splurge on the fried apple rings, yummyyyyyyyy...we will be back.

(5)Jessica P.

Conveniently located this place could use more fresh produce. The prices were high and the bar fruit dry. Hummus was tasty....the veggies old. The service was friendly as I enjoyed Pimms on the patio.... Minus the brown mint leaves.

Noisy, bad for lunch meeting, unless you want to shout. Food was good, but too expensive relative to portion to beat out Jimmy Johns delivery...

(3)Katie B.
(1)Jeff A.
Terrible management, very slow drink service, and slow food service for a marginal burger at best. Go elsewhere!
(1)Debbie C.

(4)Samuel W.
Good bar food in the popular deep deuce area. On the first floor of Level apartments. Several tvs and a good place to watch a game. Bar upstairs and downstairs. Not a bad joint.

(4)Sam H.
(5)Michael M.
(3)Toby F.
(1)Joy M.
